Nigeria, China to celebrate diplomatic relations to strengthen friendship

The Nigeria Government and China would hold an online gala performance to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the inauguration of their diplomatic relations on Wednesday.

The online gala performance tagged ‘share the moment together’ was organised by the Ministry of Information and Culture of Nigeria and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of China.

It would be held in three sections while artists from both countries would jointly perform.

The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, was represented by the Director-General of the National Council for Arts and Culture of Nigeria, Olusegun Runsewe.

He stated that China and Nigeria had shown their dedication to a strong and healthy partnership on commercial collaboration in view of the China-Africa relationship.

He said, ‘Since the establishment of diplomatic ties in 1971, China and Nigeria have been partnering in culture, security, commerce and other social areas, which has given a very strong tide to making our two countries share in the diplomatic relationship.’

The Minister of Culture and Tourism of China, Hu Heping, said the occasion would additionally fortify the mutual understanding and friendship between the two nations.
