Nicolas Pepe’s love story with Arsenal set to be Over
The love story between Arsenal and Nicolas Pepe was a £72million one fated not to end well for both parties, and now it all looks to be over.
The Arsenal winger has reportedly agreed to depart the Emirates after agreeing to a move to Besiktas, as per France media publication, L’Equipe.
It is reported that Nicolas Pepe has passed his medicals in Paris on Monday ahead of his arrival at the Turkish side.
The Ivorian had initially rejected a move to Turkey during the transfer window but has made a double turn to accept terms with the Istanbul-based side for a summer switch.
Nicolas Pepe had arrived at the Emirates with great hype after a stellar season in the Ligue 1 club, Lille.
Attracting interests from the likes of Liverpool, the Ivorian chose to play for the North London side in the summer of 2019.
However, Pepe’s fortunes dwindled with the exit of former manager, Unai Emery, with the arrival of Mikel Arteta marking the beginning of the end for his Arsenal career.
A loan move back to France in the 2022/23 season with Nice, did little to change his situation with the Gunners as he is now set for an exit from Arsenal.
