National Hospital denies referring Actor, Zack Orji to private medical facility

The National Hospital Abuja (NHA) has denied allegations that it referred veteran Nollywood actor Zack Orji to a private facility.

The statement in question was endorsed by Tayo Haastrup, the spokesman for the NHA, who spoke on behalf of the Chief Medical Director.

TopNaija recalls that the veteran Nollywood actor was hospitalized after becoming ailing.

The hospital spokesman reported that the actor, who was admitted to the intensive care unit on New Year’s Eve, was stabilized and transferred to the ENT ward.

Later, he was transferred to the orthopaedic ward, where physicians initiated preparations for his operation, according to Haastrup.

He said, “The attention of the National Hospital Abuja has been drawn to a publication insinuating that the Apex hospital referred the Nigerian Actor Zack Orji to a private hospital in Abuja.

“To set the record straight, the actor, who was brought in on New Year’s Eve and admitted to the intensive care unit, was stabilized by National Hospital Abuja and moved to the ENT ward. Later in the day, he was transferred to the orthopaedic ward, where our surgeons began preparing him for surgery.”

According to him, “Leaving Against Medical Advice” form which Orji’s relatives signed on January 1, 2024, thwarted all preparations for his surgery.

He said the Management of the hospital wished the veteran actor a speedy recovery.
