Naira Marley vindicated as Court dismisses car theft charge

A Tinubu Magistrates’ Court in Lagos has thrown out charges filed by the police against music artiste, Azeez Fashola popularly known as Naira Marley, as well as his two brothers and cousin.

On Tuesday, Chief Magistrate Tajudeen Elias made the order morning after receiving a settlement agreement between the complainant Mr Adelekan Ademola and the four defendants. You would recall that the police had charged Fashola to court over his alleged involvement in car theft. Marley, his two brothers Idris Fashola, 18; Babatunde Fashola, 24; and their cousin, Kunle Obere, 22 were the defendants in the case.

Mr Elias struck out the four-count charge of conspiracy, stealing, assault and obstructing the police from arresting Marley. Though Marley was absent, other defendants were in court.

 

Born 9 May 1994, Azeez Fashola, known professionally as Naira Marley, is a Nigerian singer and songwriter known as the president of his controversial fan base, “Marlians.” Naira Marley was born in Agege, Lagos State, Nigeria. At the age of 11, he moved to Peckham, South London, England where he started his education at Porlock Hall, before moving to Walworth School where he obtained his General Certificate of Secondary Education. Naira Marley went to Peckham Academy where he graduated with a distinction in business. He went further to study at Crossways College, now Christ the King Sixth Form College, where he completed his business law.
