NAFDAC alerts Nigerians over Counterfeit Milk in circulation

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has alerted Nigerians regarding the sale of counterfeit Arla Dano 14g full cream Milk Powder in various states across the country.

According to a statement released on January 24, the agency expressed concern over the prevalence of fake Arla Dano 14g full cream Milk Powder in the market. Investigations conducted by the TG Arla Dairy Product Enterprise, the holder of the Certificate of Registration, revealed that these counterfeit products were openly displayed for sale.

NAFDAC disclosed specific details about the fake products and urged Nigerians to exercise caution and vigilance. The agency directed its zonal directors and state coordinators to conduct surveillance and initiate measures to remove the counterfeit Arla Dano 14g full cream Milk Powder from circulation in the affected states.

The statement emphasized the importance of checking the authenticity and physical condition of the product before consumption or distribution. NAFDAC urged distributors, retailers, and consumers to be diligent in verifying the product’s legitimacy.

Consumers who suspect they possess the counterfeit Arla Dano 14g full cream Milk Powder are advised to submit their stock to the nearest NAFDAC office.

Additionally, individuals who have consumed the product or experienced any adverse reactions are encouraged to seek immediate medical advice from qualified healthcare professionals.

NAFDAC urged the public to report any suspicions of the distribution and sale of counterfeit or unwholesome packaged food products to the nearest NAFDAC office.
