The Emir of Keffi, Dr Shehu Chindo Yamusa III, has argued politicians and individuals to support Nacabs Polytechnic, Akwanga, to succeed in providing quality education to Nigerians.

The emir made this call today in Akwanga at the 20th anniversary and N200 million fundraising for Digital Migration Education in the institution.

The anniversary is themed: “Digital Migration Education: Panacea for Contemporary Emergencies in Teaching and Learning”.

The first-class traditional ruler said education is the most powerful weapon that all politicians use to change the world.

“You should know that an investment in knowledge pays the best interest. Education is the soul of the society as it passes from one generation to another.

“I task politicians to support the polytechnic the way they support their political parties.

“It is important to know that most graduates that contest election as well as appointed as Special Advisers and Personal Assistants, among others, are polytechnic graduates,” he said.

Chindo Yamusa III appreciated the management of the polytechnic for offering scholarships to students.

“This scheme has been beneficial to our children from Keffi Emirate, we say a big thank you.

The royal father also called on alumni of the polytechnic to maintain a good relationship with the management and help to build the school for the overall development of the state.

Also speaking, Dr Donald Adgidzi of the Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi, lauded the polytechnic for contributing tremendously to the socio-economic development of the country.

He appealed to the Nasarawa State Government to support the polytechnic to succeed, considering the importance of education to society.

The don also described “Digital Migration and Development in Education” as a proactive measure to overcome contemporary emergencies in teaching and learning.

“It will drastically improve manpower development in Nigeria,” he said.

Mr David Abuluya, the Proprietor of the polytechnic, had earlier said that he established the institution in order to complement government efforts in improving the standard of education in the country.

Abuluya said that the institution has qualified manpower and modern facilities for the overall development of the education sector and the country at large.

He assured of the institution’s resolve to maintain a high standard.

Dr Shehu Chindo Yamusa III became the Emir of Keffi on December 15th, 2015.
