Balogun Eletu, otherwise known as the now controversial Sam Larry, has been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command as part of an ongoing investigation surrounding the death of 27-year-old singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.

SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, confirmed this development in a statement released on Thursday night.

Hundeyin stated,

“Yes, Balogun Eletu aka Sam Larry is now in our custody. He is currently assisting with the ongoing investigation.”

Reports had previously emerged suggesting that the state police command had summoned Azeez Fashola, the CEO of Marlian Label, widely recognized as Naira Marley, and Sam Larry for questioning regarding Mohbad’s untimely demise.

Furthermore, the police disclosed last week that pathologists had completed the autopsy examination of Mohbad, with results pending. Hundeyin clarified, “Autopsy has been concluded. Awaiting results.”

The autopsy process followed the exhumation of Mohbad’s remains, a joint operation involving the Nigeria Police Force and health officials.

In connection with Mohbad’s death, the police also took into custody the nurse responsible for administering an injection to the deceased singer before his tragic passing on Tuesday, September 12.

The late Mohbad was laid to rest in Ikorodu, Lagos State, the day after his demise.
