“Mike Adenuga is very much alive” – Dele Momodu speaks
Reports of millionaire businessman Mike Adenuga‘s death have been debunked by Dele Momodu, a renowned journalist and chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Adenuga listed as the fifth wealthiest man in Africa by Forbes, is the founder of Globacom, Nigeria’s second-largest telecom provider with a foothold in Ghana and the Benin Republic.
Speculations regarding the 71-year-old billionaire’s death started to emerge online earlier this week. However, in a tweet on Tuesday night, Dele Momodu denied the rumors, clarifying that Adenuga is alive and well.
He stated that he had a telephone call with the businessman, who indicated that he is still an active player in the Nigerian economy.
The erroneous allegations had prompted comments throughout social media, with many expressing worry about the health of the reclusive billionaire. Adenuga, recognized for his substantial contributions to Nigeria’s economy, has kept a low public presence in recent years.
The politician wrote: “Ignore the fake news… The Spirit of Africa DR MICHAEL ADENIYI AGBOLADE ISOLA ADENUGA is hale and hearty. He’s right now at his desk working round the clock in support of the Nigerian economy… He just called me to thank everyone for their concern…” – DELE MOMODU.”
Adenuga reportedly made his first million in 1979, at age 26, selling lace and distributing soft drinks.
