Mayhem in Ibadan Polytechnic as cults clash

There were random shootings confirmed to be between two rival cult groups on campus at the Polytechnic, Ibadan on Monday afternoon and the management of the Institution has started to investigate on the cause of shootings.

Soladoye Adewole, who is the Public Relations Officer of the institution,  disclosed this development to the News Agency of Nigeria and eyewitness affirms that there were no casualties recorded in the incident.

“The management is looking into it and the security office is also working on it to unravel what had happened.

“Calmness has returned to the campus. Whatever happened was for about five minutes but you know where there is always a large crowd of people, the tendency is that people will be jittery and make noise, but the commotion doesn’t last for more than five minutes.

“But everything is under control,” Adewole said.

The two shootings took place around the Central Administrative Building of the institution, and lasted for about 10 to 15 minutes.

NAN  found out that academic activities were temporarily disrupted as a result of this mayhem and people scrambled for safety while the shootings lasted. But things have been put to order and everyone has maintained safety.
