A massive wildfire that captured  an area of 35,000 acres has continued  to burn in the Croatan National Forest in eastern North Carolina.

Heavy smoke and orange skies have also been reported in cities more than 60 miles away from the forest.

According to U.S. Forest Service officials, the blaze is currently 10% contained, but experts predict that it will “exit the forest” northward and spread onto private land at some point on Saturday, April 22.

This wildfire is a serious concern for residents of the region, and authorities are urging everyone to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions to stay safe. We will continue to provide updates on this developing story as more information becomes available.
