The Liverpool fans have something to hope on as Martin Zubimendi move to Anfield appears close.

From having a very quiet summer, it appears Liverpool are headed for an exciting transfer window after journalist David Ornstein dropped a hint last night on the premier league side’s intention before the season begins. 

According to Ornstein, the Merseyside club had marked the position of no. 6 as paramount, with the Reds said to be exploring options. However, earlier today, the journalist dropped yet another update when he confirmed the identity of the player Liverpool were looking to initiate contact with. Ornstein revealed that Real Sociedad midfielder, Martin Zubimendi was an option the Reds had explored for a summer move to Anfield.

The Spaniard was then revealed to have on him a €60m release clause that Real Sociedad will only accept upfront before sanctioning a move to England.

This evening, it has also been revealed by David Ornstein that Martin Zubimendi is expected to accept Liverpool’s offer for a summer move based on his sources at Real Sociedad. However, there stands a negotiation phase that could determine the possibility a move for Zubimendi to Anfield, with both parties set to determine on a fee or whether Liverpool will trigger the release clause which Sociedad wants paid in full.

The highly rated midfielder is said to have turned down a move this summer to Arsenal and a couple of other premier league sides, with Martin Zubimendi also rejecting a move to Barcelona at one point.
