Manchester City suffer another key injury setback
Manchester City are confirmed to have suffered another injury setback to a key player as Pep Guardiola affirmed that Center Back, John Stones would not be available for selection until after the September international break.
This adds to the latest injury woes of the season, and the second to face the Etihad side after Kevin de Bruyne went off injured last weekend over a hamstring issue.
John Stones had missed the Cityzens’ last 3 fixtures over a hip injury, with Pep Guardiola now confirming the England international will sit out some important fixtures within the period leading to the international break.
The Manchester City defender is set to sit out the premier league games against Sheffied United and Fulham specifically.
Stones will also miss international fixtures within that period, such as England’s Euro 2024 qualifier against Ukraine in Poland and a friendly against Scotland.
“John will be ready after the international break,” the former Barcelona boss confirmed following the win at the Etihad against Newcastle United in the weekend.
So far, John Stones has not featured for Manchester City since playing the full 90 minutes against title rivals, Arsenal in the Community Shield.
