Man Arrested For Stealing Building Materials In Plateau State

A man identified as Hussaini Maifata  has been jailed One Month For Stealing building Materials.

The area Court in Jos, the Plateau State capital, on Thursday sentenced Hussaini Maifata, 26, to one month imprisonment for stealing building materials from a shop.

Earlier, the police prosecutor, Insp. Ibrahim Gokwat , told the court that the case was reported at the Jos”C” Division Police Station on Sept. 28, 2022, by Mr Hyacinth Opara, the shop owner.

He said the complainant reported that the convict on the same date the case was reported, trespassed into his shop and stole a bending machine cast, iron rods of various sizes and door keys.

The prosecutor further told the court that during police investigation, the convict confessed to have committed the act and two pieces of iron rods were recovered from him.

The offence, he said, contravened the Plateau State Penal Code law of Northern Nigeria. (NAN).
