Liverpool will win the Premier League this season -- Brad Friedel

Liverpool winning the premier league title this season is one of those narratives that not many pundits or fans are putting into focus this season, judging by how the summer transfer season has gone for Jurgen Klopp’s side.

However, former Tottenham Hotspur goalie, Brad Friedel has predicted the Merseyside team to dispose of Manchester City and Arsenal in the 2023/24 title chase.

Brad Friedel when tasked by Ladbrokes to give his prediction for the 2023/24 campaign, listed out the clubs he believes are going to make the top 4 challenge, and according to former Spurs’ goalkeeper, Manchester City and Arsenal will be in that conversation.

However, according to Friedel, Manchester City will fall short of claiming a 4th title glory following a daunting season that inspired a historic treble for the Pep Guardiola side.

In his prediction, Friedel places City as runners-up for the league behind Liverpool.

On where he sees Chelsea finishing the 2023/24 season, he predicts the Blues to end in 3rd place behind Manchester City, while former title chasers in the 2022/23 season, Arsenal will fall short by clinching the 4th place.

“Man City are favorites, but I am going to go with Liverpool. I think they are going to get some things together and make a run for it.” he said.

“It is so hard to come off the back of winning a treble and go out challenging on all fronts without some mental fatigue creeping in there.

“Even though Pep [Guardiola] is just incredible, I am going to say Liverpool win it, then they will be followed by Man City in second and Chelsea in third.

“As for fourth place, you’ve got a few teams who will fancy themselves to sneak in there. You are looking at the likes of Man United and Newcastle, but I will put Arsenal in fourth place, and Man United just missing out.”

Brad Friedel’s prediction comes as the shocker as he snubs the obvious to go for the underdog. So far, no prediction has had Liverpool in a title chase, and a few has even placed the Reds in the top 4 spot to begin with.
