Lewandowski Is Human at the End—Jay Jay Okocha

At some point in time, when a play becomes too good in their abilities and capabilities, the world and the media starts doubting whether they are human or something, for Poland international, Robert Lewandowski, Mexico may have just shown the world that despite his abilities he is still blood and flesh, according to Super Eagles legend, Jay Jay Okocha.

The Former Super Eagles midfielder, Austin Jay Jay Okocha was a pundit on Super Sport during the Tuesday fixture to reacted to Robert Lewandowski’s penalty miss against Mexico in the World Cup that resulted in the eventuality of a goalless draw.

Lewandowski unwittingly had wasted a golden opportunity to win the game for his country from the penalty spot in their Group C debacle with North American country, Mexico.

The penalty had it been converted would have placed the European side on a 3 point lead ahead of Mexico and Argentina going into the second group stage match.

Argentina themselves had wasted an early lead that would have placed the team in top spot against Saudi Arabia but a shock defeat with the Arab side scoring 2 times in 5 minutes places Group C in a much dicey affair going into the second game.

For Mexico goalkeeper, he was the villain on the night against the Polish skipper whose penalty was carefully saved before any damage could be done.

Okocha speaking on Super Sport acknowledged that the penalty save goes to show Lewandowski was only but a human being.

“Unfortunately, Lewandowski showed us that he is a human being after all with that miss,” Okocha said.

“You would have thought he is the right person to take it. He’s the right person to give them that advantage that they needed.

“It was a penalty. Moreno, didn’t make contact with the ball.”
