Lai Mohammed a change agent – Buhari hails Minister on 70th birthday

Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari has described Minister of Information and Culture Lai Mohammed, as a devoted public servant, TopNaija reports.

Felicitating with the Minister on his 70th birthday, the President averred that Lai Mohammed raised a formidable information machinery that went a long way in bringing change in the country.

He further stated that Lai works assiduously to create understanding and enhance the image of the country by bridging the gaps in information.

The statement read;

“The President congratulates the minister on the milestone, heralded by many years of diligent service to the country, working as a lawyer and businessman, before getting into politics where he served as Chief of Staff in Lagos State, and National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

“As a party stalwart, President Buhari notes the sacrifices and contributions of the minister in raising formidable information machinery that went a long way in bringing change in the country.”

Lai Mohammed has been accused by some local and international news about giving contradictory accounts of events in his country and false information.

This is evidential in his #EndSARS accounts, which were at first, different from those claimed by the Lagos State government and the Nigerian Army. In his interview with DW TV, Tim Sebastian accused him of being “out of the loops” of his country’s politics.
