Lagos chief of staff withdraws litigation threat against Aare Onakakanfo

In a significant development, Tayo Ayinde, Chief of Staff to Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has chosen to withdraw a legal threat against Yorubaland’s Aare Onakakanfo, Iba Gani Adams.

This decision follows a letter from Ayinde’s lawyer, Adeyinka Olumide-Fusika (SAN), to Adams’ legal team, OKC Attorneys, dated March 27, 2024.

Previously, both Sunday Adeyemo, also known as Sunday Igboho, and Ayinde had threatened legal action against Adams in response to accusations of an assassination plot.

Ayinde’s pre-action letter, dated March 20, 2024, raised concerns about a viral note attributed to Adams. The note allegedly implicated Ayinde in a plot with Sunday Igboho.

However, Adams denied the claim, calling the audio clip distorted and part of a private 2021 conversation.

Responding to Adams’ denial, Ayinde’s lawyer conveyed Ayinde’s understanding and willingness to resolve the matter peacefully.

This decision aimed to promote harmony and prevent further escalation.

In a letter to Ayinde’s lawyer on Thursday, Adams’ legal representative, Oluwole Kehinde, expressed gratitude for Ayinde’s withdrawal of the legal threat.

He acknowledged Ayinde’s counsel and thanked them for their cooperative approach to resolving the issue.

This resolution marks a step towards reconciliation and highlights the importance of dialogue in addressing disputes.

It underscores the significance of upholding truth, fairness, and the public interest in resolving contentious matters.
