Kepa reacts to Todd Boehly storming Chelsea dressing room

Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga has become the first player to publicly respond to Todd Boehly’s dressing room rant following the club’s defeat to Brighton last weekend.

Chelsea has lost three games in a row since Frank Lampard returned to the club as a caretaker manager until the end of the season.

According to reports, Boehly entered the dressing room and criticized the squad, labeling their league position as “embarrassing.” However, Kepa Arrizabalaga has stated that Boehly regularly speaks to the players after each game.

“Todd comes to the dressing room every game. He had different chats with us,” Arrizabalaga said in a pre-match press conference ahead of Chelsea’s Champions League clash against Real Madrid. “I’m not going to say what he said. It’s normal when he comes to the changing room.”

Chelsea will be looking to overturn a two-goal deficit against Real Madrid in their quarter-final second-leg tie at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday, and Arrizabalaga has stressed the importance of a better performance than their showing at the Bernabeu last week.

“We need to control the counter-attacks better and we need to spend better time with the ball,” he said.

“We need to create more chances, score goals, and be more clinical in both areas to have a chance. Hopefully, tomorrow we can involve the fans at Stamford Bridge and deliver our best to make this different atmosphere that we need to go through.”

The Spanish goalkeeper also spoke about the pressure on the team to deliver a good performance, saying: “It is not going to be easy, but we have to push as much as we can.”

Chelsea fans will be hoping for a turnaround in form as they face a crucial period in their season with the race for a top-four finish in the Premier League and the Champions League campaign still ongoing.
