"Keep an eye on Arsenal" -- Fabrizio Romano

Italian journalist, Fabrizio Romano has revealed what the summer plans are for North London side Arsenal in the transfer market.

In the ever-evolving chess game of football transfers, Romano reports that Arsenal Football Club has set its sights on Ajax’s rising star, Jorrel Hato.

According to the renowned football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the North London club has earmarked the 18-year-old centre-back as one of their top targets for the upcoming summer transfer window.

Hato burst onto the scene last season with Ajax, swiftly cementing his place in the first team during the current campaign. Despite his tender age, the young defender has exhibited maturity and skill beyond his years, catching the eye of several top clubs across Europe.

Romano revealed on the Here We Go podcast that while Hato recently inked a contract extension with Ajax, tying him to the Dutch outfit until 2028, Arsenal remains undeterred in their pursuit of the talented prospect. The Gunners are said to have closely monitored Hato on multiple occasions, recognizing his immense potential and viewing him as a top-tier centre-back in the making.

“Arsenal are still following him,” Romano disclosed. “They’ve tracked him multiple times, they believe he is a top, top centre back in terms of potential, so keep an eye on Arsenal.”

Despite Ajax’s desire to retain their prized asset, Arsenal is reportedly “pushing” to secure Hato’s services this summer, already laying the groundwork for a potential move. While the negotiations may prove challenging, given Ajax’s satisfaction with Hato’s progress, Arsenal is optimistic about their chances and considers themselves frontrunners in the race for his signature.

“Let’s see if they can make it happen this summer, or it has to be in the future,” Romano remarked. “But Hato remains one of the priority names on Arsenal’s list.”
