JUST IN: Wike Places Another Ban On FCT
Newly elected minister of the federal capital territory (FCT) Nyesom Wike has reportedly placed a ban on full-scale billboards, lamp post billboards, and other similar advertisements congratulating him on his appointment.
The FCT minister addressed that his decision to concentrate on the Renewed Hope agenda being championed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was made in the spirit of public service and devotion to responsibilities in a statement by the Director of Press for the ministry, Anthony Ogunleye.
He added that such billboards and adverts end immediately, even though he appreciated the public’ well wishes and support.
‘’As FCT Minister, his foremost duty lies in contributing to the development and growth of the FCT and the well-being of its residents and he has requested the public to understand his perspective and continue to extend their support and cooperation.”
“However, in the spirit of public service and commitment to his responsibilities, the minister wishes to focus his full attention on assisting President Bola Tinubu in realizing his vision and renewed hope agenda for Nigeria,” he said.
According to Ogunleye, Wike’s top priority is to contribute to the FCT’s development and growth, as well as the welfare of its citizens and the country as a whole.
The minister, he continued, held the hopes and expectations of the citizens of the FCT in high regard and remained committed to carrying out his duties with the highest sincerity and dedication.
He asserts that this may be done by putting all of one’s energy into the task at hand and collaborating with government employees to provide the best possible service to the nation.
“Wike sincerely hopes that the public will understand his perspective and continue to extend their support and cooperation.
“He looks forward to working hand in hand with all stakeholders to build a stronger, more prosperous, and united FCT and Nigeria,” the director said. (NAN)
