Jeremy Doku set for Manchester City medical

Belgium international, Jeremy Doku is set for a medical at Manchester City after agreement on a move to the premier league side was reached between Rennes on a fee worth £55.5m.

The transfer will see the Rennes winger become Manchester City’s third signing of the summer upon the completion of his medical today, following the acquisition of Josko Gvardiol and Mateo Kovacic.

Following the beginning of the summer transfer window, the Belgian had seen his name linked with a number of premier league sides before agreeing to a move the current league champions.

Jeremy Doku will come as a replacement for former Manchester City star, Riyad Mahrez who left the Etihad club for the Saudi Pro League following a treble winning campaign.

Jeremy Doku opened his score sheet for the season in Rennes’ recent Ligue 1 fixture versus Metz, following up on the 6-league goals season last campaign.

The transfer move for Doku however leaves the future of Manchester City academy graduate, Cole Palmer hanging, with speculations surrounding an exit from the Etihad this summer.
