Israel Resumes War Against Hamas Following 7 Day Ceasefire And Hostage Exchange

After a seven-day truce ended on December 1, 2023, Israel resumed military operations against Hamas in Gaza. Israeli jets bombed sites around the area.
The agreement resulted in the release of 110 Hamas hostages and 240 Palestinian inmates detained by Israel. Israel condemned Hamas of launching rockets toward its territory.
Only two hours after the cease-fire collapsed, Gaza health authorities said that 35 people had been killed and others had been injured in air raids on at least eight houses.
According to medics and witnesses, the attack was most intense in Khan Younis and Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip, but it also attacked residences in the middle and northern Gaza Strip.
“Anas, my son, I don’t have anyone but you my son!” wailed the mother of Anas Anwar al-Masri, a boy lying on a stretcher with a head injury in the corridor of Nasser hospital in Khan Younis. “He is my only boy!”
The Israeli military announced it had “resumed combat operations” and its warplanes were striking the enclave, accusing Hamas of violating the truce first by firing rockets and failing to free all the women it was holding hostage.
More than 15,000 Palestinians have been murdered in Gaza since October 7.The official death toll in Israel is about 1,200.
Qatar has stated that discussions between Israel and Palestine are ongoing with the goal of restarting the truce.
