I prefer Dying in my Country than living free in another—Peter Obi

The Labor Party presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi does not see any reason leaving his country while at war for bliss in another man’s country when he could fight and die for his.

The politician while promoting his Presidential agenda and what he believes he can do differently for a country which he loves, explains that:

“If I am out of Nigeria today and there is a war in Nigeria, I will find a way to return to Nigeria because I will rather die in my country, Nigeria, than live free in another man’s country,” Obi said.

He added, saying, “Irrevocably, and I believe no matter how far we travel or how successful we become outside Nigeria, we can never have another country to call our own but Nigeria.”

The politician further revealed that be he the President or not, he will continue to do whatever stands in his power to ensure the country marches on to greatness.

Speaking to his support group; the Peter Obi Support Network on Monday, he said:

“When I left the UK after residing there for over 10 years, I returned everything that belonged to them. I have a singular focus on Nigeria, and I do not think I need the citizenship or residence rights of any other country when I haven’t finished exploiting my nature-given rights and privileges as a Nigerian.”

It appears the Peter Obi campaign is streamlined at nationalist ideologies over the cliché manifestoes of a utopian Nigeria that many politicians of Nigeria’s past promises while vying for power.

It doesn’t change the fact that Peter Obi stands to challenge more politically experienced opponents in the personalities of Atiku Abubakar of the People’s Democratic Party, which Obi himself was once a part of and the former Lagos governor Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress.
