"I am scared, EFCC now using power to oppress people" -- Skales

Nigerian singer Raoul John Njeng-Njeng, widely recognized as Skales, has expressed his ongoing fear and concern for the safety of himself and his family following a recent intrusion by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) into his residence.

Skales had previously publicly criticized the EFCC for allegedly breaking into his home and wrongly accusing him of fraudulent activities.

During an episode of the “Terms & Conditions” podcast, Skales disclosed that he has been receiving threats since his public confrontation with the anti-graft agency. The incident has left him feeling that his life is no longer secure.

The singer, known for hits like “Shake Body,” asserted that he remains free to move about because he is confident in his innocence.

Nevertheless, he revealed that one of his artists, who was apprehended during the EFCC’s raid on his residence, remains in custody.

Skales emphasized the illegality of the EFCC’s actions, citing the absence of a search warrant during their intrusion. He also voiced his discontent with the agency’s alleged misuse of power to oppress individuals.

“My problem with the EFCC guys is not even the fact that they are not doing what they were paid for,” Skales stated,

“They are now using the power to oppress people. They are oppressing me right now. I am scared for my life, I won’t lie to you. I’m scared, but at the same time, I know I’m clean, that’s why I’m moving around.”
