Garnacho shuts down Messi rumours

Manchester United forward Alejandro Garnacho who has played alongside both Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, has recently been at the center of controversy following Argentina’s 2024 Copa America triumph.

Known for his preference for Ronaldo over his Argentine compatriot, Garnacho found himself in hot water after a video surfaced suggesting he ignored Messi during the tournament’s final.

The clip, shared by @UTDKara, showed Garnacho seemingly overlooking Messi on the substitutes’ bench and celebrating Argentina’s win from a distance. This fueled speculation that the young forward had deliberately snubbed Messi, leading to widespread media frenzy.

In response to the uproar, Garnacho took to social media to set the record straight. Visibly frustrated by the circulating video, he responded with an emoji expressing his disappointment. To further clarify, he posted a photo showing him celebrating with Messi, who was smiling, dismissing any notion of a rift between the two.

Garnacho, affectionately known as the ‘Ronaldo fanboy,’ also commented under a Messi post, expressing his gratitude: “Thank you for everything, captain.” This heartfelt message underscored his respect and admiration for the Argentine legend.

Argentina’s victory marked a historic 16th Copa America title, edging out Uruguay to claim the record.
