French referee banned for three months

Tony Chapron, the French referee who kicked out at a Nantes player during a Ligue 1 match, was banned for three months by the league’s disciplinary committee on Thursday.The 45-year-old official attended a hearing in Paris following the bizarre January 14 incident, footage of which went viral, and received a six-month ban – three of which were suspended.
