Female Student Burnt alive for allegedly insulting Prophet Muhammad in Sokoto

Religion tensions rose in Sokoto State on Thursday morning, May 12 after a young lady was beaten to death for supposed blasphemy.

The unnamed victim who happens to be a student of Sokoto State’s Shehu Shagari College of Education was burnt alive for alleged blasphemy against their Prophet.

According to SaharaReporters, the anonymous lady was set on fire by her colleagues for allegedly insulting Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

TopNaija understands that Muslim students took her out of her hostel, beat her, and burned her to death.

Recall that in March 2021, several enraged unruly religious youths in the Sade community of the Darazo Local Government Area of Bauchi State burned to death a man named Talle Mai Ruwa for allegedly disrespecting Prophet Muhammad.

According to reports, the burnt victim was dragged away from his home and as the mother watched, was burned to death in the middle of the community.

Eyewitness photos from the scene showed the victim was covered by tyres as he was set ablaze.

According to eyewitnesses who talked to SaharaReporters, the youths contributed money to buy petrol to set Mai Ruwa on fire.

A resident said, “The young man was killed by a mob in Sade town for allegedly insulting Prophet Muhammad. He was dragged from his house by a mob and forcibly set ablaze after being tied to an old car tyre.

“The village youths donated money to buy the petrol that was used to burn and kill Talle Mai Ruwa.”

Another source noted that the angry youths had taken the victim before Islamic clerics where he was asked questions.
