Fans Want Me And My Kids Dead – Graham Potter

To say Chelsea and its manager, Graham Potter are having quite a torrid season will be an understatement, and now the former Brighton & Hove Albion manager has revealed receiving death threats from a divide of the fan base.

Along with that, Graham Potter, the coach of Chelsea Football Club, has admitted that the criticism he has been subjected to since taking over the team has had a negative impact on him and his family. The admission comes after Southampton, a struggling Premier League team, defeated the Blues 1-0 at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, leaving Chelsea in 10th place in the league, 11 points outside of the Champions League berths.

Potter, who was recruited in September 2021 after Thomas Tuchel was fired, has only won nine of his 25 games in charge of Chelsea. Despite the poor results, the club’s board, led by Todd Boehly, has expressed its support for the former Brighton manager, stating that his hiring was part of a long-term strategy.

“With the results as they are, you accept criticism,” Potter said. “That should come. That’s fair. The mood here has always been positive and respectful. That’s not to say it’s easy at all. Your family life suffers, your mental health suffers, your personality – it is hard.”

Potter also revealed that he has spoken to the board about the team’s poor form and that they remain supportive but frustrated by the lack of results. He acknowledged the criticism from the club’s fans, saying,

“Supporters care, when they are upset they let their feelings be known and we accept that. There’s nothing I can say that will make the supporters if they are against us with us. The solution is that you have to win football matches.”

Chelsea have spent around 500 million euros on signing new players in the last 12 months, but their recent poor performance has put pressure on Potter and the team. The coach’s next test comes on Sunday, February 26, when Chelsea face local rivals Tottenham Hotspur at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium.

“Fans told me they want me and my kids to die,” the Englishman alleged. “You need to careful,” he added.
