The Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY), located in Ojere, Abeokuta, Ogun State, has taken disciplinary action against students found guilty of examination malpractice.

According to reports, 19 students have been suspended, while an additional two have received warning letters for their involvement in academic misconduct.

The sanctions were imposed based on the recommendations of the Examination Misconduct Panel, as stated in a press release by the institution’s Public Relations Officer, Yemi Ajibola, on Monday.

Among the suspended students, four will face a two-semester suspension, while the remaining 15 have been suspended for four semesters.

Ajibola highlighted a significant decrease in the number of students involved in examination malpractice compared to previous reports.

He attributed this positive trend to the institution’s ongoing efforts to raise awareness about the consequences of academic dishonesty and to prepare students for success in the job market.

“The efforts of the management of the Ogun State Government-owned foremost tertiary institution on sensitization against examination malpractices and moulding the students for acceptance in the labour market are yielding positive results,” Ajibola stated.

“It shows that in the near future, there will be no students in MAPOLY who will be involved in such illegal activities.”

The disciplinary measures underscore MAPOLY’s commitment to upholding academic integrity and ensuring that students adhere to ethical standards in their pursuit of education.
