Enugu State Government has revealed that all schools will resume for the new academic session on January 10, 2022, TopNaija reports.

Commissioner for Education, Prof. Uchenna Eze, made the confirmation to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday.

The official announced that the state was operating a uniform timetable for public and private schools.

All have been directed to comply with existing COVID-19 safety protocols.

“Pupils must come to school wearing their face masks”, Eze ordered.

”Supervisors will move from school to school to ensure all COVID-19 prevention protocols are observed.”

Eze urged schools to get temperature thermometers ready, make provision for running water and soap or alcohol-based hand sanitisers.

They must also ensure good spacing of the pupils, functional sickbay, first aid box and isolation of anyone suspected to be sick.

Lagos State Government had earlier announced that all public and private schools below the tertiary level in the state will resume for the second term 2021/2022 academic session on Tuesday, January 4, 2022.
