Enugu Agents Attempts Election Result Swapping
The Conference of United Political Parties (CUPP) has raised concerns over an alleged plot to swap the results of polling units already declared in Enugu state.
The Chairman of CUPP in Enugu State, Festus Okafor, issued a statement on Saturday night, claiming that some agents of the ruling political party were attempting to smuggle in fake result sheets.
Okafor called on all lovers of democracy to defend the ballot and urged Enugu people to head to the ward collation centres and the local government collation centre.
He also warned the army, NSCDC, other security agencies, and INEC that the CUPP had uncovered the plot and that it must not happen.
The collation of results from polling units was ongoing as voting had ended in the governorship and State House of Assembly elections held on Saturday.
