Elon Musk Loses Spot Of World’s Richest Man To LVMH’s Bernard Arnault

Popular billionaire and Tesla founder, Elon Musk has slipped from the spot of the World’s Richest Man, as Bernard Arnault takes the spot.
The American billionaire lost his position right after selling Tesla stock to pay for the $44 billion purchase of Twitter.
Topnaija had earlier reported, on October 28, Elon completed the deal to acquire Twitter at his original offer price of $54.20 a share at a total cost of roughly $44 billion.
However, according to Forbes list, Bernard Arnault and his family, who control the parent company of luxury brand Louis Vuitton, LVMH, are said to have a combined personal worth of $185.4 billion and have been named the world’s wealthiest people.
Elon Musk, who has held the top spot on the Forbes list of the world’s richest since September 2021, now has a net worth of $185.3 billion.
On Wednesday, Dec. 7, early trading saw a drop of about 4% in Tesla’s stock.
Meanwhile, Elon Musk got himself trending on the popular micro-blogging platform, Twitter, after he tweeted that he wants to buy the English football club, Manchester United.
Musk was in the midst of a political ideology discussion when he suddenly posted that he is buying the club which is currently bottom of the Premier League.
He wrote, “Also, I’m buying Manchester United ur welcome”.
His tweet quickly garnered attention from fans who really wanted it to happen but they were later left disappointed when he added that he was only joking.
A Twitter user asked him – Are you serious?
He replied – No, this is a long-running joke on Twitter. I’m not buying any sports teams.
