EFCC Operatives Met With Police Resistance As They Storm APC’s Adamu Abdullahi’s Residence

Reports coming in suggest that the operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFFC has raided the residence of Adamu Abdullahi, the National Chairman of the ruling party, All Progressive Congress.

TopNaija confirms that the ruling party’s national chairman, of his free will, resigned from his sit after receiving pressure from the party’s top members.

However, it was gathered that the anti-crime agency, EFCC stormed the ex-chariman’s home at Ali Akilu Crescent, by Aso Rock Presidential Villa, to execute a search warrant.

Upon their arrival at 8:00pm on Sunday, they were met with resistance from police orderlies attached to the politician.

As reported by other sources, it was disclosed that a standoff immediately ensued after the police officers said no one would be permitted to enter the premises because it was already past 6:00 at night.

The officers remained adamant and stood their ground, despite being shown a warrant duly signed by a judge.

The content of the warrant was not immediately clear, but Adamu had faced corruption allegations whose probe might still be active.

“The police officers said no one can enter the house because it was already past 6:00 p.m. and already late for any search operation,” one of our sources said under anonymity to discuss the operation.

He added: “They said they won’t allow anyone inside even if they go back to bring the judge that signed the warrant.”

Also, TopNaija reports that the officers arrived with four trucks, and spent hours trying to resolve the matter, but it yielded no success.

No casualties were reported during the standoff, which a source described as “physically intense.” Spokespersons for the police and the EFCC were not available for comment between the small hours of Monday and at the opening of business.
