Eden Hazard Goes Sincere About Leandro Trossard

Belgium football star Eden Hazard has opened up about his feelings regarding Arsenal’s Leandro Trossard, confessing that he questioned his own inclusion in the starting line-up ahead of the Gunners’ midfielder during the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Hazard, who currently plays for Real Madrid, retired from international football after Belgium’s elimination from the tournament in Qatar.

Despite not playing regularly for his club side, Hazard was included in Belgium’s starting XI for the first two group matches against Canada and Morocco. However, he was dropped for the team’s final game in Group F against Croatia, with Trossard being given his first start of the tournament.

In an interview with RTBF, Hazard said, “We were talking about the name of Leandro Trossard to replace me, he was having a good season. Even I wondered why I had to play when he had to go on the bench. It is normal for people to think that, especially after the game against Egypt, where we didn’t play a good game, where I didn’t play a good game.”

Hazard also drew a comparison to Cristiano Ronaldo, who did not play in the last matches of the World Cup with Portugal.

“It’s Cristiano with Portugal, it is even more than Eden with Belgium. It is normal, it is football,” he said.

The comments from Hazard have sparked interest from Arsenal fans, who are pleased to see their player’s talent being recognized at the international level. Trossard has been in impressive form for the Gunners this season, scoring six goals and providing six assists in 25 Premier League appearances.

The Belgian midfielder joined Arsenal in the summer of 2021 from Brighton & Hove Albion and has quickly become a key player for Mikel Arteta’s side. His performances have earned him praise from fans and pundits alike, with many tipping him for a successful career at the Emirates Stadium.

As for Hazard, the Real Madrid star’s comments will only add to the speculation surrounding his future. The 31-year-old has struggled with injuries and form since moving to the Spanish capital in 2019, leading to rumors that he could be set to leave the club in the near future.
