Just a month after signing a brand new record deal with Def Jam, rapper DMX has checked himself into a rehab facility, his team has revealed.

DMX has endured a troubled past with substance abuse but his decision to check himself into rehab has come as quite the shock to fans and his Hip Hop peers.

In a message posted on the rapper’s Instagram account, his team said ‘In his ongoing commitment to putting family and sobriety first, DMX has checked himself into a rehab facility. He apologizes for his canceled shows and thanks to his fans for their continued support.’

The Hip Hop community rushed to support the rapper with positive messages, with his long-time friend and producer Swizz Beatz writing ‘Getting ready for the rest of your life King. Much honor and respect King‼️’

Fellow rapper Casanova added ‘PRAYERS TO YOU MY BROTHER’ whilst fans also posted messages of support including one user who wrote ‘U got it…just stay focused X…ur fam needs you and we love you’.

DMX had been due to perform at a number of shows across America however the rapper’s appearance at those has now been canceled.
