Darwin Nunez's on-pitch reaction to Toulouse goes viral

Liverpool fans were quick to notice Darwin Nunez’s apparent snub of referee Georgi Kabakov following a dramatic turn of events in their Europa League clash with Toulouse.

The match, which took place on Thursday night, marked Liverpool’s first defeat in the competition this season, as they succumbed to a 3-2 loss against Ligue One side Toulouse.

The thrilling encounter saw Liverpool trailing 3-1 after Aron Donnum, Thijs Dallinga, and Frank Magri all found the net in a scintillating performance at the Stadium de Toulouse.

Liverpool managed to pull one back when Cristian Casseres Jr inadvertently put the ball into his own net, making it 2-1. Diogo Jota’s solo effort followed by Magri’s strike set the stage for a frantic finish.

Liverpool appeared to have salvaged a draw in the dying moments when young talent Jarell Quansah scored.

However, their joy was short-lived as a VAR review led to the goal being disallowed, with Alexis Mac Allister being penalized for an accidental handball in the build-up.

The decision left Liverpool and their manager, Jurgen Klopp, irate. Klopp expressed his dissatisfaction with the referee, particularly given the perceived delay in making the call.

After the final whistle, the Liverpool manager did not mince his words, stating,

“I only saw the video back now and for me, it’s not a handball, but how can I decide that? The ball goes to the chest, and then I don’t see contact with the arm, to be honest. Maybe they had a different picture than I had.”

In a further twist, footage circulated online depicting Darwin Nunez seemingly ignoring the referee’s handshake and pulling away from goal-scorer Frank Magri.

Despite the controversial decision, Liverpool now turn their attention to their upcoming clash with Brentford at Anfield on Sunday.
