Court grants Emefiele N300million bail

Former Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele has been granted bail by a Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court in Maitama.

The ex governor was granted bail in the sum of N300 million and two sureties in like sum.

Court grants Emefiele N300million bail

In a ruling on Wednesday, Justice Hamza Muazu held that Emefiele should produce two sureties, who must have landed property in the Maitama District of the FCT.

This comes two weeks after another FCT High Court ordered his release in a fundamental human rights suit he instituted against the federal government.

The court adjourned till November 28 for the commencement of trial.
