Comparing Davido, Wizkid and Burna boy is silly and disrespectful — CKay speaks

Afrobeats singer, Chukwuka Ekweami, popularly known as CKay has shunned many to stop disrespecting big artistes, Davido, Wizkid, and Burna Boy by making comparisons.

The singer, CKay took to the microblogging platform in a series of tweets on Wednesday, August 24, urging fans and followers to put an end to the comparison between the three leading artistes, as it is a silly thing to do.

The Emiliano crooner noted the things he learned differently from the trio, Davido, Wizkid, and Burna Boy.

Calling the trio trendsetters, CKay noted that Burna Boy showed him that when one’s time to succeed is delayed, it does not mean that it is denied.

He also noted that the DMW boss, Davido made him realize that with Afrobeats, it is possible to get international plaques.

Speaking about Wizkid, Ckay said that he (Wizkid) showed him that home background does not determine how far a person can go.

He stressed that fans can hype their favourite artiste without having to bring down others that are also doing well.

In his words; ‘‘When I see people disrespecting our 🐐s on this app or making silly comparisons, it actually upsets me. Give your 🐐s their flowers while they’re still here! They paved the way!

Davido showed me that getting plaques with afrobeat songs is possible, Wizkid showed me that where you come from doesn’t limit how far you can go, and Burna Boy showed me that delay is not denial.

Back in my CC days, Dice Ailes and I created a sound that birthed a whole new wave of afrobeats. It’s so funny how today some people twist the narrative and say we copied a sound we created lol.
