Davido: “Fix the economy, stop the barking!” — Ruggedman
Afrobeats artiste Davido has earned the ire from those within the Nigerian political terrain when he took the country to the cleaners in a recent interview in the United States.
However, fellow artiste and veteran rapper Ruggedman has now jumped into the debate to confront the superstar’s critics.
Davido’s alleged controversial remarks came when he commented on Nigeria’s struggling economy and the harsh realities of average Nigerians. The Afrobeats star was accused of demarketing the image of the country when he advised Americans and foreign internationals from relocating to the country.
According to Davido, the nation’s economy was in a “shamble”.

Ruggedman, stepping into the conversation, set the record straight, urging Davido’s critics to focus on the real issue—the state of the economy—rather than attacking Davido. Taking to his X account, Ruggedman wrote:
“Ok, Davido has said what he said. Moving forward, the government should fix Nigeria so nobody will say such again. All this barking all over the place is not fixing the nation. The hardship is too much.”
The rapper’s no-nonsense response has reignited conversations about the responsibilities of public figures versus the government in addressing Nigeria’s economic woes. Ruggedman’s stance is clear: don’t shoot the messenger; fix the problem.
