Committee release date to Alao-Akala

Alao-Akala is incompetent to lead Oyo APC reconciliation committee — Bayo Shittu

The committee set up to supervise the burial of former Governor of Oyo State, Chief Christopher Adebayo Alao-Akala, have set Friday 18th February to bury the ex-governor.

Recall that Adebayo Alao-Akala died on 12th January this year, at the age of 71.

The burial committee in a statement signed by a member of House of Representatives, Dokun Odebunmi, said that the former Governor would be buried in Ogbomoso on Friday, 18th February.

Odebunmi, who is the Chairman of the Media Committee of the burial, revealed that the programme will commence on Monday 14th February and end on 20th February 2022.

From the position of Station Officer in the Nigeria Police, Adebayo Alao-Akala became the Administrative Officer, Federal Operations at the Force Headquarters, Lagos. He later rose to the position of Operations Officer, FEDOPS, Lagos. He became the Personal Assistant to the Assistant Inspector-General of Police and subsequently the ADC to the Inspector-General of Police.

Alao-Akala contested and won the gubernatorial election in 2007 under the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and became the Executive Governor of Oyo state, serving a full term till May 2011.
