Casemiro On What He Finds Strange With Ten Hag
Manchester United ever since its back to back losses in the start of the Premier League season, barring the 6-3 defeat to neighbors, Manchester City, have been in fine form, something only possible thanks to bold decision by Erik Ten Hag.
There are very few managers who despite the media narratives surrounding the club and one of its biggest stars, could turn things around and stay bold with those decisions.
According to Casemiro, defensive midfielder for Manchester United, current manager, Erik ten Hag’s “obsession with winning” is what most surprises him about the club’s manager.
It is a trait that Casemiro claims he has only sometimes observed in other coaches he has played for.
This was said by the Brazilian at the pre-game news conference before Man United’s Europa League encounter against Real Sociedad on Thursday night.
The 30-year-old played for Real Madrid, Carlo Ancelotti, Luis Felipe Scolari, and Tite before moving to Manchester United in the summer in a £70 million move.
When asked what he can learn from Ten Hag, Casemiro said, “After being in football for quite a while, despite the fact I am only 30, his [Ten Hag’s] obsession for winning is what surprised me the most.
“I think he’s got many strengths, we all know it is a process, and we’re growing together. We all see he wants to win and his obsession for teaching us and making us better to the millimetre is key.
“That obsession with winning is something I have only seen with very few managers.”
