Bus loaded with passengers collides with moving train in Ilupeju

On Tuesday, passengers narrowly escaped death at the Ilupeju Bye-pass area of Lagos State when a bus collided with a moving train.

However, a disaster that could have claimed lives was averted as no life was lost to the accident.

According to reports, driver of the Toyota Hiace bus with registration number EKY 888 XW refused to obey the traffic officers as such drove recklessly.

Fortunately, there is no record of loss of lives, but two male adults sustained injury and were administered first aid treatment by the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) paramedics before being transferred to a public medical facility for further medical attention.

The bus was subsequently recovered off the railway with the aid of the LASEMA’s light tow-truck and was taken to Railway Police Station, Mushin.

Other responders at the scene were theNigeria Police Force (NPF), Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) officers and Lagos State Neighborhood Safety Corps.
