Buhari felicitates with Ortom @ 60

President Muhammadu Buhari, on Friday, felicitated with the Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom, on his 60th birthday.

The congratulatory message of President Buhari was contained in a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, named ‘President Buhari congratulates Governor Ortom on his 60th birthday.’

The statement read, “President Muhammadu Buhari rejoices with Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom on the occasion of his 60th birthday.

“The President joins family and friends to celebrate the governor, thanking God for a life of service to his state and the nation.

“As the former minister marks the Diamond Jubilee, President Buhari urges him to rededicate his life to working for the prosperity and well-being of the people of Benue State.

“He wishes the governor many more years in good health.”

Samuel Ortom was born 23 April, 1961 in Guma Local Government Area of Benue State, Nigeria. He is a politician, businessman, administrator and philanthropist.

He is the current Governor of Benue State. Prior to becoming the governor, he served as the Minister of State Trade and Investments in Nigeria during the presidency of Goodluck Jonathan.

Ortom attended the Benue State University, where he obtained an Advanced Diploma in Personnel Management in 2001 as well as a Master of Public Administration in 2004. He earned a Ph.D from the Commonwealth University, Belize, through distance learning.

He is happily married to Dr Eunice Erdoo Ortom and their union is blessed with six children and four grandchildren.
