Bruno Fernandes on what he really thinks of Ronaldo

Bruno Fernandes has previously shared his thoughts on playing alongside Cristiano Ronaldo, following recent reports linking the Manchester United captain with a move to Al Nassr.

As Euro 2024 approaches, where Fernandes and Ronaldo are expected to team up for Portugal, there is speculation that they might also reunite at club level.

Reports suggest Al Nassr, where Ronaldo currently plays, is interested in signing Bruno Fernandes this summer, with an offer in the region of £80 million to £90 million.

According to the Daily Mirror, Ronaldo has recommended Al Nassr pursue Fernandes, who recently held talks with Manchester United regarding his future and the club’s ambitions.

“Ronaldo is understood to have urged his club to move for Fernandes,” the report states. “Fernandes held a meeting with United last week to discuss his future and the club’s ambitions going forward.”

Bruno Fernandes has previously spoken highly of Ronaldo. In October, he remarked on the impact of playing with the football legend both for Portugal and potentially at club level again.

“Do I have the notion that I’m playing alongside a history maker? No, I don’t have a notion, I have the certainty! We’re all aware of it,” Fernandes said.

He continued,

“We all understand the force and impact that Ronaldo has, the force and the impact that Ronaldo has had on the future of many of us Portuguese players, the opportunities that he’s created for future generations of players, the way others began to look at Portugal.”

“They already had started looking at us with more respect, but everything that Ronaldo achieved meant our name was more feared. We are grateful to have lived in this era, because it was a privilege for us to watch Cristiano play and at the same time I had the chance to play alongside him,” Fernandes concluded.
