Blue Bloods: I could care less about Basketmouth now -- AY

The longstanding feud between Nollywood actor and comedian, Ayodeji Makun, popularly known as AY, and his industry rival, Basketmouth, has taken an unexpected turn as AY revealed that he is finally letting go of efforts to reconcile with his counterpart.

The duo’s 17-year-old beef, which originated from a disputed N30,000 debt that AY claimed Basketmouth owed him, has been a topic of discussion in the entertainment world for years.

However, in a recent interview with Teju Babyface, AY disclosed that he is no longer willing to pursue reconciliation and is ready to move on.

AY recounted his long history of trying to mend fences with Basketmouth, stating that he had made numerous attempts over the years to reconcile their differences.

Despite their senior colleagues in the comedy industry being aware of his efforts, they eventually advised him to ease off, realizing that forcing reconciliation was futile when Basketmouth appeared reluctant to mend their broken friendship.

The comedian expressed his initial belief that their feud could be resolved, going as far as incorporating routines into his stand-up comedy shows that hinted at a desire for reconciliation. However, these attempts only seemed to fuel the fire further, with the duo engaging in public spats once again.

In light of the ongoing tension and seemingly unending rift, AY has come to the conclusion that he is no longer willing to push for reconciliation.

He shared his thoughts on the matter, stating, “Friendship is not by force,” and acknowledging that despite his efforts, it may not be possible to mend the broken ties between them.

The Nollywood star further emphasized his stance, indicating that he has now come to terms with the possibility of never reconciling with Basketmouth.

He expressed contentment with moving forward without trying to force a resolution to their longstanding feud. For AY, the priority is to focus on his own journey and personal growth without holding onto grudges.

The feud between AY and Basketmouth has been a subject of intrigue for fans and industry insiders alike, with the two comedy icons dominating the Nigerian entertainment scene for years. Despite their successes, their strained relationship remained a source of controversy and speculation.

As AY’s decision to let go of the feud makes headlines, fans and followers of the two comedians are bound to be curious about their future interactions and whether this marks the definitive end of their rivalry.

Only time will tell if their paths will cross again in a more harmonious manner, but for now, AY’s focus remains on embracing a new chapter in his career and personal life, free from the burden of their longstanding beef.
