Bayern eye Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as Tuchel replacement

One of the weirdest reports that could be read off any media platform today as Bundesliga club, Bayern Munich are alleged to be interested in the appointment of former Manchester United boss, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

This follows current manager, Thomas Tuchel facing the pressure after back to back defeats in the current campaign have faced the European giant.

Another name included in the list is former Real Madrid boss, Zinedine Zidane who like Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, remains unemployed after leaving his previous role as Madrid manager.

Speculation is also rife that Bayer Leverkusen’s Xabi Alonso is the frontrunner for the position if Bayern opts to part ways with Tuchel. However, the club faces competition from Liverpool who also eye an Anfield return for Xabi Alonso following the departure of Jurgen Klopp at the end of the season.

This puts Bayern Munich in unchartered waters as they are reported to be open to assessing all options, including Zidane and Solskjaer.

The pressure on Tuchel intensified after Bayern’s 3-2 defeat at the hands of Bochum on Sunday, leaving the Bundesliga champions eight points adrift of league leaders Leverkusen. This loss marked Bayern’s third consecutive defeat, following a 1-0 setback against Lazio in the first leg of the Champions League last-16 tie.

With the possibility of experiencing their first trophyless season in 12 years looming, Bayern’s management is said to be committed to sticking with Tuchel until the end of the season while sincerely evaluating the situation.
