“AY called my daughter a Dog” — Seun Kuti
Seun Kuti, the renowned Grammy-nominated Afrobeat singer, has shed light on his recent mockery of comedian Ayo Makun, popularly known as AY, following the unfortunate fire incident that ravaged AY’s multimillion-naira mansion in Lagos.
Kuti revealed his reasons for taunting the comic star, citing AY’s previous jokes regarding Kuti’s own altercations with the police and imprisonment, as well as an offensive portrayal of his daughter in a skit.
Seun Kuti, who is known for his candid and unfiltered views, defended his actions by criticizing AY’s comedic style, dubbing him “unfunny” and describing him as a “dry goat with smelly mouth.”
He went on to allege that AY has a problem with bad breath, a claim he insisted was widely recognized within the entertainment industry.
During an Instagram live session with his fans, Kuti remarked,
“They say I dey laugh Ayo Makun [AY] say him house burn. You know follow me often because people wey dey follow me often go tell say the day gangan wey the house burn, I went live. As the house dey burn, as dem dey try quench the fire, I was on live.”
Kuti’s motivation for his mockery appears to be rooted in AY’s previous actions, as he accused AY of using his “trials and tribulations” to create jokes.
Furthermore, Kuti expressed his displeasure with AY’s skit that allegedly portrayed Kuti’s daughter in an offensive manner, saying,
“He called my daughter a dog basically in his useless skit. That unfunny modaf**ker. That dry goat with smelly mouth. His mouth dey smell. Ask anybody in the industry except they want to lie to you.”
Kuti also seized the opportunity to condemn AY’s behavior toward his wife, suggesting that AY’s reputation with women may have been negatively affected by instances of domestic violence within his household.
