Arsenal striker loses 'insane' amount of money in Online game

Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus reportedly faces financial setback after being banned from playing the popular video game Counter-Strike 2.

The Brazilian forward, known for his proficiency on the football pitch, played a pivotal role in Arsenal’s recent 5-0 victory over Crystal Palace, contributing an assist for teammate Leandro Trossard.

However, just days after his on-field success, Gabriel Jesus found himself banned from Counter-Strike 2 and took to social media platform X to appeal for the removal of the ban.

In a tweet directed at Counter-Strike, he pleaded,

“Hi @counterstrike my account received a VAC ban unfairly, can you help me? Follow the account link and print of the ban.”

Counter-Strike, a tactical first-person shooter game, enjoys immense popularity among Brazilians, with notable figures like Neymar and Casemiro also being avid fans.

Gabriel Jesus, known for his love of the game, has purportedly invested approximately $40,000 in in-game items, including an $800 customized M4A1-S Hot Rod gun.

The reported cause of Jesus’ ban is a Valve anti-cheat (VAC) suspension, a measure imposed for various reasons, often related to cheating or using unauthorized software to enhance gameplay.

While there have been instances of mistaken bans, particularly affecting users with AMD GPUs during certain driver updates, the nature of Jesus’ alleged offense remains undisclosed.

VAC bans are typically permanent and seldom overturned unless attributed to developer errors. In a further blow, Jesus will be unable to sell the acquired in-game items, known as skins, due to trading restrictions imposed during the ban.

Despite the Arsenal star’s plea on social media, the outcome remains uncertain, with Valve yet to respond to his request.
