Aquaman star, Amber Heard leaves Hollywood

The Hollywood drama is a never-ending one, and for Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom actress, Amber Heard, it seems to have dragged her further down in the dirt following her legal battle with ex-husband, Johnny Depp.

Amber Heard, the star of the “Aquaman” series, has reportedly moved to Spain with her young daughter after quitting Hollywood. The news was confirmed by the New York Post, citing a report from the Daily Mail. An unidentified source revealed that Heard has gone off the grid to Spain, where she is happy raising her daughter away from the noise of Hollywood.

The report suggests that Heard is bilingual in Spanish and has settled in Spain for a quieter life. Although she is not in a hurry to return to work or Hollywood, she could come back for the right project. The 37-year-old actress had previously announced her decision to settle her much-publicized defamation case with ex-husband Johnny Depp in December 2022.

The case revolved around a Washington Post article penned by Amber Heard, which discussed her experiences with domestic violence.

Although Johnny Depp was not named in the piece, it was heavily implied that he had abused Heard, something he denied. Following a multi-week trial in Fairfax County, Virginia, Depp was awarded $15 million in his defamation case against Amber Heard.

The seven-person jury concluded that the Washington Post article had defamed him. Heard won on one count of her countersuit, arguing that she was defamed by a member of Depp’s team.

While the $15 million was reduced to just over $10 million due to Virginia Law capping punitive damages to $350,000, TMZ reported that Amber Heard settled the suit for $1 million, which came from her insurance company rather than her own pocket. The settlement brought an end to a lengthy and bitter legal battle between the former couple.

Heard’s return as Mera was eagerly anticipated by fans of the “Aquaman” series, and the first footage from “Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom” was shown at CinemaCon, offering attendees a glimpse of her in action once again. However, her tenure as the comic book heroine appears to be coming to an end with James Gunn and Peter Safran rebooting the DC Universe.

Amber Heard’s move to Spain has come as a surprise to many of her fans who were hoping to see her in more movie roles in the future.

However, it seems that the actress is content with her new life in Spain and is focused on raising her daughter away from the glare of Hollywood. It remains to be seen whether she will return to Hollywood in the future or remain in Spain for the long term.
