APC responds to suspension of national chairman Abdullahi Umar Ganduje
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has issued a response following the suspension of Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, the party’s national chairman.
In a statement released on Sunday, Ahmed Muhammed Ganduje and Usaini Jibrinn, chairman and secretary of Ganduje ward in Kano State’s Dawakin Tofa local government, clarified that no new election had been conducted by either the state or national APC bodies.
The statement highlighted that the group responsible for the suspension of Ganduje had failed to conduct proper research. They allegedly used a fake or uncertified letterhead to compile a list of non-existent party executives.
“As executive members of Ganduje ward of the APC, there was no new election for the leadership of our party. We remain the legitimate executive of the ward,” the statement affirmed.
The executive members called on the national body to aid in the apprehension and prosecution of the impersonators who had misrepresented the party’s leadership.
They also urged fellow party members to be vigilant against misinformation designed to destabilize the APC.
